Cooper is the companion I grew up with since I was a little girl. He lived until he was 16 years old, bringing my family joy every single day until his last. He was a sweet, sensitive soul. What a privilege it is to be loved by an animal with no conditions- and what a privilege it is to have loved him back.
He loved to sunbathe in the Arizona heat, get into the trash, cuddle with his mom, play with his squeaky toys as loud as he could during conversations, get on the couch when we weren’t home, bark at hot air balloons, chase the birds in the backyard, and lick your unsuspecting feet that were hanging off the couch. He was always so particular about things, like his food dishes and his bed. He would refuse to eat out of certain bowls or sleep in certain beds we bought him. He was always so silly and made us laugh, and he was also naughty, but persistent. He never learned to stop poking his nose into the trashcan when we weren’t looking or steal our food off the counters, but we loved him no matter what.
We will miss our buddy so much. Rest easy sweet boy.
